Storm Eunice hit the UK this weekend, with her 122 mile an hour winds - "the strongest storm since The Great Storm of 1987" which, I remember, meant a bonus day off school aged 16!
At 16 I thought it was great - but I hope you've managed to stay safe.
The storm has made me think of the No1 reason clients come to me for coaching (aside from the time someone came to me because they "wanted to be my friend"! True story! And no - we didn't get past the Chemistry Coffee!)
The No1 Reason Clients Come to me for Coaching?
CLARITY
CLARITY on WHO they ARE and WHAT lights them up.
CLARITY on WHERE they're GOING.
CLARITY on HOW they'll GET THERE!
But - you know what?
Sometimes LIFE gives us CLARITY and we just NEED TO SEE IT and - here's the crucial bit - ACT ON IT! Your LIFE is speaking to you - but ARE YOU LISTENING?
So often with can THINK we want something - and safely dispatch it to the future of "if only I could afford a coach I could get clear on life" type thinking - but really what you're doing is excusing yourself from taking ACTION!
Yeah - I see you!
It reminds me of a story I've heard my Dad tell. He's a bible teacher.
A woman was on a walk and broke her leg. She was stuck at the top of a mountain and called out to God, dramatically - "YOU NEED TO HELP ME HERE"!
A walker came past and offered help. "No - it's OK. God's coming" she said.
Mountain Rescue choppered in but were met with a "No - it's OK. God's coming"
The woman sadly died on top of the mountain and when she got to Heaven she said to God "I was waiting for you and you never came"! YES I DID came the reply!
The same is true in our own lives with CLARITY.
BOOM! THERE IT IS!
So often we can be the "woman on top of the mountain" - outsourcing our happiness / clarity / fulfilment to our future, playing the "poor me" victim - when really, some of our answers are RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!
Life is speaking but are YOU listening?

AND WHICH YOU DON'T!
WHAT DID YOU LEARN DURING THE PANDEMIC?
WHAT DID LIFE SHOW YOU?
HOW CAN YOU ACT ON IT?
WHO CAN YOU SHARE THAT COMMITMENT WITH TO MAKE YOU ACCOUNTABLE?
Think about WHAT YOU'RE CHOOSING IN LIFE.
And what did "the storm" show you that you need to listen to?
I CHALLENGE you to TAKE ACTION! ACT on your learnings!
